Riding Lessons: Specializing in the Training and Development of the Horse Also Trains Students of All Ages and All Levels Including the Advanced Rider
Trainer - Leslie Wylie Leslie Wylie has been a competitor in equestrian sport for over 15 years. She specializes in the eventing and hunter/jumper disciplines and is currently pursuing her lifelong dream of representing the United States in international competition. Her accomplishments include eventing through the Intermediate level, show-jumping through 1.20 meters, earning her USPC H/A rating, and acheiving several wins and top finishes at the regional and national competition level. Leslie enjoys teaching and passing on the knowledge she continues to gain from her own coaches, which currently include four-star event rider Amy Barrington (Tryon, NC) FEI dressage rider Jim Koford (South Pines, SC) and two-time Olympian Julie Richards (Newnan, GA). Leslie takes lessons on a regular basis, reads voraciously, and believes in the importance of continuing education to a progressive teaching system. Leslie's training methodology is based on a system of gymnastic exercises designed to develop the horse as a willing and capable athlete while preserving its natural expression. As for the rider, she believes that riding is not just a physical activity, but an intellectual and emotional one as well, and that all aspects of one's being must be addressed if the rider is to advance toward achieving his or her personal goals. Leslie is excited about joining the team at Ridgemor Farm, Inc., as a trainer, in addition to managing her own semi-private facility, Sibylline Stables in East Knoxville. She challenges Ridgemor's riders to identify their aspirations, whether excelling in upper-level competition or simply creating a more harmonious relationship with his or her own horse, and welcomes the opportunity to guide such dreams into reality.

Currently we have two school horses for the beginner rider. Both are very safe for children and adults. Bint is a small Arabian who is well over 30 years old. She does walk-trot lessons, although she has been known to canter. She enjoys being ridden and loves being groomed, especially by children. Mister is also an older horse having passed the 20 year mark some time ago. He is a gentleman for his rider and also loves having a job. He is still capable of jumping a 2’6” course. |
